Africanness Webinar
Thank you to our panelists and attendees for joining our Embracing our African Heritage webinar! This proved to be a very fruitful discussion where the themes of language, culture and innovation were unpacked by our all in attendance.
Our hope is that this discussion will encourage you to continue to engage in matters related to the development and preservation of our African Heritage in your respective sectors.

The Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) in partnership with Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment (CAPSI) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) hosted a celebration of African heritage, Africanness and Ubuntu. In commemorating Africa Day this year, MINDS, CAPSI and AUDA-NEPAD are convening Africa’s youth and brains to discuss our heritage and how we can use our own culture and way of being to pursue our own development.
We do not take for granted that the Africa is also dealing with a pandemic that is crippling to the economy. And therefore, with this upcoming webinar we aim to create a platform where we have a discussion about a way forward and solutions for Africa. Here is something to ponder as we prepare for the Africa day celebration: How can Africans and African institutions realize their full potential when we have no idea who we are and what our own nature is?
What are we aside from the narrative shared post colonialism and how can we tap into our own essence to take Africa forward?
