Roland M. Banya is a development finance specialist with 10 years’ experience on the African continent. He has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town, an MSc Degree in International Finance and Economic Development from the University of Kent. He also possesses a PhD in Development Finance from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.
Roland has strong skills in research and analysis. He has also gained significant experience in project management, particularly proposal development, monitoring and evaluation, management of budgets and capacity building.
Roland has research experience working with the Centre for Financial Regulation and Inclusion, African Centre for a Green Economy, Green Economy Coalition, Africagrowth Institute, the World Bank as well as for Business Unity South Africa. His research interests stem from Development Finance, Philanthropy, Impact Investment as well as Public Finance.
