Ruth Phillips

Advisory Board Member

Ruth Phillips is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney. She is a seasoned researcher, author and women’s rights advocate whose research over the years has focused on the role of feminism and women’s activism in the third world. Her research interests are social structures, inequalities and social justice, social policy, third sector studies and feminism. Ruth has been an active member of the ISTR for the past sixteen years, holding the title of President in 2019-2020, and is currently a Board member. Her experience and popularity in research spaces also gained the attention of the Australian and New Zealand Third Sector Research (ANZTSR), where she was editor of the Third Sector Journal for five years.
