Asabea Shirley Ahwireng-Obeng

Associate Researcher

Asabea Shirley is a researcher, lecturer and consultant whose research interests lie in Capital Markets, Financial Economics, Institutions, Investments as well as Entrepreneurship/Philanthropy in emerging economies, particularly Africa. She obtained a BA degree in International Relations and Industrial Psychology from the University of Witwatersrand, and a Master’s degree in Business Leadership specialising in Corporate Finance, from the Unisa School of Business Leadership. She also holds a Certificate in Risk Management, and a Master’s degree in Finance and Investment from the Wits Business School. Inspired by the enormous potential for research in the African continent, Asabea completed a Ph.D. in Financial Economics and consults widely in the broader fields of Economic and Financial Development.
