African philanthropists have the capital, influence, local knowledge and moral authority to address pressing challenges that face the continent, but we need to rethink the relationship between government, the private sector, and philanthropy.
Over 200 people from all walks of life attended the very first philanthropy conference to discuss 9 panel topics in the space which were all intriguing and insightful. It is intended that this philanthropy conference will be the stepping stone for more developments in the field: practice and research wise.

20 doctoral students doing research in the philanthropy space came to WBS to enjoy a 2 day seminar of learning and scholarly advice to develop them into the next cohorts of researchers in the philanthropy space
The first 7 papers in philanthropy in Africa were peer and scholarly reviewed on this day. These papers will be heading out to publications soon, watch the space.
On the 17th of January 2019, the Carnegie Corporation of New York hosted the ACPSI team and introduced the initiative to the world.
